he export versions of the UCE B5 Bullet and C5 Classic came with fork reflectors with silver / chrome backing pieces.

BHPian Viju recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

Installed few accessories on my Bullet. Here’s what I got

Lifting Handle:

The Bullet came with only the left hand side lifting handle as standard. It looked a bit asymmetric and was messing up with my OCD. To be honest, I don’t think it is really necessary to have a lifting handle on the right side as I never place my bike onto the center stand from the right side.

But the heart needs to be at peace. And moreover, my little 8 year old son came up with a reason that he holds the LHS handle while sitting (don’t ask me how, and was missing the RHS one).

Therefore I ordered one for the right side. The part number is the same for both sides and since the bottom portion has an offset in the design, it messes with the symmetry anyway. Fitment was the not tough – place the motorcycle on the center stand, remove the right side top bolt of the rear shock absorber while holding the retaining nut, fix the lifting handle and fix the bolt and nut back.

Fork Reflectors:

Remember the fork reflector delete story from the last post? So I did find the older rectangular style reflectors on Hitchcocks. Fortunately the reflectors and the backing pieces come separately.

Why fortunately? Because I wanted the backing pieces in a chrome / silver finish to match the fork outer tubes and painting them is much simpler when you don’t have to mask up the edges of the reflector.

I ordered a spray can of chrome paint from Amazon and got to work. The pictures are self explanatory. Let me know what you guys think?

PS: By the way, this is not an idea that sprung up in my head. I am not that smart. The export versions of the UCE B5 Bullet and C5 Classic came with fork reflectors with silver / chrome backing pieces. Why RE did not bother to continue with them for the Reborn and other models with bare aluminium outer tubes is beyond me. At least I feel they look much nicer and a bit more premium.

To ensure proper alignment, I used some non-residue tape on either fork outer tube.

A tinge of pseudo patriotism:

I am not really a decal / sticker guy when it comes to cars and bikes. However, I had these 3D gel stickers of the India tricolor lying around. I felt it is a nice addition to have while riding around proudly on an Indian motorcycle in Japan.

After sitting on the idea for a couple of weeks, finally decided to fix them on the faux air filter and battery box covers. Hope the bike is not becoming too ‘rangeela’! Any opinions are welcome, guys!
