We are all aware that Mahindra & Mahindra has planned a range of new born-electric SUVs, which will start arriving by December 2024. In addition, the indigenous automaker is preparing the electric iteration of the Mahindra XUV 3XO subcompact SUV. This upcoming EV will be a direct rival to the Tata Nexon EVand its top variants will compete against the lower trims of the MG ZS EV. The XUV 3OO EV will surely be priced at a premium over its ICE version, which is currently available within the price range of Rs 7.79 lakh – Rs 15.49 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).

Compared to the ICE-powered XUV 3XO, the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV will look slightly different and carry a few EV-specific elements inside the cabin as well. What we know so far about its design is that the EV will feature a closed-off grille and a charging port on the front fender. The copper treatment on the roof and copper badging will highlight its electric nature. Most of the design elements will be exactly similar to its ICE counterpart, including alloy wheels, connected LED taillamps, and more.

The centre stage will be taken by a free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that’s likely to support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There will also be a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic AC, wireless phone charger, and more.

Specifications of this upcoming Mahindra electric SUV are still under wraps. However, it’s likely to share its powertrains with the XUV400 EV, which comes with 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh battery packs and a front axle-mounted electric motor. The e-motor produces 150bhp and 310Nm of torque. The 34.5kWh battery is claimed to offer a range of 375km, while the 39.4kWh battery promises 456km.
