New Delhi:
Team India is going to be selected for World Cup 2023 on Tuesday. And even before this the giants are announcing their respective teams. Gautam Gambhir has also chosen his team. Earlier the Indian team was to be announced on Sunday, but it was postponed due to the “match fitness test” of KL Rahul. In fact, all the other stake holders including Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar, who reached Sri Lanka, want to see KL Rahul keeping wickets for the entire fifty overs. The BCCI had already made it clear that KL Rahul would be given a fitness certificate only after keeping wickets for the entire fifty overs.

Talking about Gautam’s team, this former left-handed batsman has kept a mixture of experience and youth in his team, but it is surprising that he has not given Shreyas Iyer a place in the team. Gambhir, who is commentating for Star-Sports in the match against Nepal, has given place to Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and Atishi Suryakumar Yadav in the top order of his team. There are many surprising selections in his team.
Here’s the much talked about clip of Gautam Gambhir’s commentary last night.
Gautam Gambhir was the POTM in the 2010 Asia Cup Final between India and Pakistan.
He says “Actually, it wasn’t me who won the match for the team. There was a partnership between me and Dhoni, but I… pic.twitter.com/NfwwmN4rMZ

Gambhir has also included that KL Rahul in the team, on whom he clashed with Mohammad Kaif in the debate. Also, Ishaan is also in Gautam’s team, but why Iyer is not there, it is very strange. Most pundits have termed Shreyas Iyer as the best available option for number four. In such a situation, how Gautam took this decision is completely beyond understanding. Overall, Gambhir has kept Shardul Thakur, Tilak Verma and Shreyas Iyer out of the team for the Asia Cup. Gautam Gambhir’s 15-member Indian squad for World Cup 2023 is as follows:
1. Rohit Sharma (Captain) 2. Shubman Gill 3. Virat Kohli 4. Suryakumar Yadav 5. KL Rahul (Wicketkeeper) 6. Ishan Kishan 7. Axar Patel 8. Hardik Pandya (Vice-Captain) 9. Ravindra Jadeja 10. Washington Sundar 11. Mohammed Siraj 12. Kuldeep Yadav 13. Jasprit Bumrah 14 Mohammed Shami 15. Prasidh Krishna
