Conclusion

Hyundai has made some interesting choices with packaging the trims of the Alcazar. Like most models sold in India, the mid-spec Platinum is made to look attractive and comes with all essentials and several nice-to-have features. If you are looking to buy the Alcazar, this is the trim we recommend.

However, let’s get into the nitty-gritty of this clever packaging done by Hyundai to maximise profits.

  • The base variant of the SUV is decently equipped but misses out on some factory-recommended features such as an infotainment and audio system.
  • For an additional Rs 2.17 Lakh, the Prestige variant does get audio, infotainment and a nice panoramic sunroof (albeit for petrol models only).
  • And for the final catch, you cannot have a manual gearbox with the 6-seater model.

Do you think that Platinum is the most value-for-money variant, also if you had to buy, which variant would you pick?

Here’s what BHPian yedukrishnan199 had to say on the matter:

I mostly prefer Automatic and the top-trim when it isn’t too expensive, the 6-seater Signature Variant is my choice preferably in the 1.5L Turbo Petrol DCT, this trim offers the most features and is my go-to choice, but when considering Value for money, the Platinum takes the cake.

Here’s what BHPian It’sMagic had to say on the matter:

Voted for the 1.5L Turbo Petrol DCT Platinum 7 Seater.

I chose the 7 seater because I will be taking one more person on board and saving around ₹20000 as well. I agree that the Platinum trim is attractive, consisting of all the essentials and many nice to have features. It looks like a very good value for money trim at the suggested price point.

It’s good to see that the rear wiper, washer, and defogger are available in the base trim (Executive). Generally, Hyundai likes to keep these features in higher trims for reasons best known to them.

Although you get a few additional features in the top end Signature trim, they are mostly nice to have and you can easily live without them

Here’s what BHPian sharmanova had to say on the matter:

Voted for the 1.5L Diesel AT Signature in 6 Seater. Although I feel, base Executive is perfect for most of the buyers, looking for a no-nonsense car!
