HYDERABAD: A biker picked a quarrel with the traffic cops and abused them after he was stopped for riding without a helmet during a vehicle check at Jubilee Hills in the city on Tuesday.
The biker, identified as M Srinivas, a private employee from Gajularamaram, also had eight challans pending on his bike for wrong side driving and riding without a helmet. The bike’s number plate was also improper, said traffic police. A video of the incident is now viral on social media platforms.
Around 11.40 am, Sub-Inspector Gopi and his team were checking vehicles near Jubilee Hills Club. Srinivas, who was approaching the vehicle checkpoint, saw the cops and started going back.
Cops intercepted him and asked for vehicle documents and also asked him to clear the pending challan.
In the process, he picked a quarrel with the cops and abused them in vulgar language. Later, he pushed down his bike and ran away from the spot. On a complaint from the traffic cops, a case was registered at Jubilee Hills Police Station against Srinivas for obstruction of duties of a public servant, and the bike was also seized, said an official from Jubilee Hills Traffic Police Station.
