Jubilee Hills: Telangana High Court Overturns Controversial Denotification of Jubilee Hills Land |

Hyderabad: Telangana high court on Monday set aside the order of Rangareddy former district collector B Amoy Kumar who, in 2022, had removed 52 acres of land from the prohibitory category that helped some private parties.
Stating that there was no valid reason to remove prime property in Jubilee Hills from the prohibited category, Justice K Lakshman said that there was not enough evidence to say that the petitioners were the owners. The judge dismissed the petitions of Raunaq Yar Khan, Bukthyar Khan and members of their families, who were claiming rights over this land.
The land is located in Guttala Begumpet behind Marri Chenna Reddy HRD Institute in Jubilee Hills.
Amoy Kumar, who is under Enforcement Directorate scanner, reportedly faced questions on this decision when he was called for questioning by the ED authorities recently. There was an order from the high court earlier asking the private claimants and the state also to maintain status quo in respect of 73 acres in survey number 63, which includes the 52 acres denotified by Amoy Kumar.
He sent a communication to the registration wing to allow registrations on this land.
The petitioners contended that they had inherited the property by virtue of a gift deed (dated March 31, 1971) executed by their mother Lateefunnisa Begum, wife of Ahmed Yar Khan who, according to them, inherited the property from her father late Nawab Nazeer Nawaz Jung in the gift deed (dated Oct 14, 1969).
Despite the status quo orders issued on the entire land of 73 acres and 39 guntas of survey No. 63 in Guttala Begumpet, Amoy Kumar on Aug 8, 2022, issued proceedings denotifying 52 acres in the same survey number from the purview of section 22-A of the Registrations Act and freed the land from the prohibitory category.
The IAS officer declared it as a private property during his stint as Rangareddy collector.
