BHPian SnS_12 recently shared this with other enthusiasts: Eight month long monsoon break Well that’s after how long I rode Bluebird and while I don’t ride in monsoons at all but thanks to repair work outside my parking my bikes were inaccessible for over two months and the work got completed just near the onset of monsoons. Also, due to the repair work even with three covers dust has found its way in and a trip to OCD is now due along with its six monthly service. Today, was a special ride even though it was a short city ride as my younger sister finally mustered the courage to sit with me on a big bike. She has sat with me on the RX multiple times but doesn’t enjoy speed that much but for some reason that has changed now and she wanted to get an experience of the big bike feel. My niece had to be informed by my sister that she will wake up early in the morning and will be going for a bike ride. She enquired on which bike and then told her not to go with me as I ride very fast . Powerful statement for a four year old who has only heard stories about my riding and hasn’t seen me ride a bike on the road yet. I gave a crash course to my sister on how she should sit with body weight and position and most importantly to hold me tight so that she doesn’t fall off with the acceleration She got a proper feel of the challenges that come by in sitting as a pillion where you’re tossed around with small road undulation’s at low speed and the slide forward and backward with hard braking and acceleration. So took it slow initially and gave the bike more beans on the return leg as she was by then comfortable with her sitting posture and she thoroughly enjoyed it and even said she wants to sit on the Ducati next even with its more aggressive seating position and also on the new ride the RD 250 Daytona Special.
