Hyderabad: A teenager Shruthi Gupta, who was injured during a fire accident at East Chandranagar, Yakutpura last week, passed away while undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital early on Saturday.

The girl aged 16 years, along with her grandparents, Mohan Lal and Usha Rani, were present on the first floor of their house and making arrangements for Deepavali, when the fire broke out.


The police had stated that the fire started after the oil in the pan got overheated and led to fire in the house. A cracker box kept in the room incidentally exploded. Usha Rani, was preparing snacks for the festival.

The trio were shifted to hospital where Mohan Lal and Usha Rani were pronounced brought dead while the girl was shifted to a private hospital for treatment. Shruthi, was later shifted to Gandhi Hospital where she passed away while undergoing treatment.
