Motherboard failure on my Ola S1 scooter: No fix in sight for a month!

It’s been two weeks since I last updated and over a month since the issue and there has been no action on the issue, such is pathetic service from Ola.

BHPian yedukrishnan199 recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

This is a post on behalf of a family member of mine, who bought an Ola S1 Pro Gen 1 a couple of years back, it has run over 30,000 km and It was smooth sailing as regards the scooter initially, but service was always an issue, However, over a couple of weeks back on the way to work the scooter stopped on the road suddenly with the screen going blank, it wouldn’t turn on whatsoever, Thankfully due to God’s grace there were no other vehicles behind and a great disaster was averted and we were able to slowly get the scooter on to the side of the road.

We tried everything to turn it on and it didn’t budge, so with no option available, we had to call the Ola team to tow it to their service centre. That was another issue and it quite a while for them to arrive. Once they arrived, they took our scooter to the dedicated service centre in Kuriachira, Thrissur. However since then, there has been no response from the team at all, it is as if they only have to get the scooters to the service centre and do nothing about it. We went there a couple of days later, and they told us they had to get authorisation from the team at another showroom (Peramangalam) to do any work, so we went to the showroom and asked them about the delay. They were in no mood to entertain us, we requested them to kindly fix it as soon as possible as our business was hugely impacted because it was the sole vehicle we used for our small business where we used for delivery of our products to our clients.

After that they informed us that the board was faulty and a replacement of the same was required, we asked them how long it would take and they have no clue. We constantly kept inquiring but with no positive response and the board has still not arrived even after 15 days.

It is utterly pathetic and irresponsible from both the company Ola Electric and the service centre personnel at Ola Kuriachira and Ola Peramangalam that they have no interest in serving customers or fixing their issues, we have to beg them to even open a ticket or take the scooter in, and even after all this, god knows if they even ordered the board as even after 15 days, there is no response whatsoever. No wonder they have hundreds of dissatisfied customers with their scooters lying in wait just to get serviced or repaired.

If the Ola service team continue to treat customers like this, I have to say they will start losing sales sooner rather than later and will finally perish, the competition is heating up and just selling scooters will get you only so far, without proper service, the company will surely fail down the line unless they take care of these issues at the earliest.

I am not the only one, there are hundreds of other Ola customers who regret the day they bought an Ola scooter.

Hopefully, the top brass at Ola finally take note, before it is too late.

This is the ticket they managed to raise after a lot of delay and it wasn’t even raised immediately but after haggling for quite a few days.

It’s been two weeks since I last updated and over a month since the issue and there has been no action on the issue, such is pathetic service from Ola, and they don’t care, I am sure such attitude will surely lead to their downfall. I still have the slightest glimmer of hope that they notice this and solve this as it is already too late.

Here’s what BHPian CarNerd had to say on the matter:

If this was USA, Ola would have been sued for millions of dollars by now by and the founder would have busy paying all the customers. This is India where one can leisurely plan which country to flee to and when after swindling bank money. Nobody has to worry about any lawsuits and fraud cases. In fact, founders can abuse anyone who dares to question them publically and treat customers as vermins. They are above law because they create jobs.

In other countries: Customer is King.

In India: Company is King.
