Arrested Comedian Utsav Dixit Faces Serious Charges After Porsche Crash | Hyderabad News


Hyderabad: A city court has directed Banjara Hills police to serve notice to businessman Utsav Dixit who was arrested after crashing his Porsche Taycan into the pavement and fence of KBR National Park on Friday morning. The court issued this order after police presented him before it on Saturday.
Meanwhile, police seized his original driving license and sent it to transport department for disqualification. Police registered a suo-motu case against Dixit, 33, who recently entered the entertainment industry as a stand-up comedian, for culpable homicide, rash driving, violations of Motor Vehicle Act, Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the collision resulted from reckless driving, leading to a loss of control over the vehicle, according to S Venkat Reddy, ACP of Banjara Hills division. The court has instructed the police to issue a notice to Dixit under Section 35 of the BNS, requiring him to appear before the probe officer for questioning. He will be asked for more details regarding the incident, and his statement will be recorded and submitted to the court.
The incident occurred while Dixit was returning home after meeting friends. He had left home the previous night following a disagreement with his wife over minor family issues. The vehicle, registered in his father-in-law’s name, was a gift for his wife.
