Vijayawada: The high court on Tuesday asked former Macherla MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy to approach the trial court for permission to travel abroad.
The court relaxed his bail terms by handing him back his passport and exempting him from appearing before the investigation officer every week. However, YSRCP leader was asked to be available for investigation whenever required in the EVM destruction and attempt to murder cases registered against him on polling day.
Reddy was named as an accused in three cases of poll violence in which he was alleged to have destroyed EVMs, attacked a TDP agent, and a police inspector on the day after polling. The high court granted him bail in the case by imposing certain conditions, including the handing over of his passport. Reddy moved the high court seeking to relax the conditions so that he could travel abroad.
Considering his submissions, the high court relaxed his bail conditions but asked him to approach the trial court for obtaining permission to travel abroad.
The high court further said that Reddy should hand over his passport to the trial court, if asked.
