Hyderabad: The Telangana high court on Wednesday dismissed a writ petition filed by Errolla Srinivas of BRS seeking a direction to the station house officer of Banjara Hills police station to register a case against chief minister A Revanth Reddy for allegedly abusing BRS leaders.
Justice B Vijaysen Reddy said the petition was not maintainable as the petitioner has no locus to file it. The judge also observed that the CM speaks on a lot of issues in various meetings and contents of the speech cannot be converted into defamation cases and FIRs.
Srinivas, a former chairman of Schedule Castes and Scheduled Tribes Commission, alleged that the CM had hurled abuses against BRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao, KT Rama Rao, T Harish Rao and others on March 6 at a public meeting in Palamuru.
