Salman Khan has faced ongoing threats linked to his 1998 blackbuck poaching case, in which he was accused of killing two blackbucks—an animal sacred to the Bishnoi community—during the filming of Hum Saath Saath Hain. Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, with ties to the community, has insisted the actor must publicly apologize or face serious repercussions. In 2022, Bishnoi reiterated that the community would not forgive Khan without such an apology.
