Hyderabad: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) Hyderabad unit, which is investigating the Maheswaram land case, has submitted a report to Telangana DGP Jitender on Friday under Section 66(2) of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The report recommended filing possible FIRs against officials linked to land irregularities and implicates MRO RP Jyothi, ex-RDO E Venkatachary and former Rangareddy collector Amoy Kumar, currently serving in animal husbandry department. Despite previous complaints, police had not registered cases.
ED’s report not only presented new findings in Maheswaram case but added 12 additional complaints, including those related to Shankar Hills. ED detailed how regulations were allegedly violated in land transactions, uncovering possible forgery involving alienation of govt land.
Section 66(2) of PMLA allows ED to share information with relevant authorities when other laws appear to be violated. ED urged police to register new FIRs where applicable, citing a consistent modus operandi across complaints. The investigation stems from an FIR filed by Maheswaram police in 2023 based on a complaint by Mehdipatnam resident Dastagir Shareef. The complaint, initially filed in Maheswaram court on March 13, 2023, named several MROs and others, and was forwarded to police.
Among latest complaints, Madhura Nagar Plot Owners Welfare Association’s plea, filed in HC, seeks scrutiny of orders issued by Kumar regarding land in Tattainnaram village, Abdullapurmet.
