Janmashtami festival in Mathura dedicated to ISRO scientists
Mathura, September 5 (IANS). This year’s Janmashtami celebrations at Shri Krishna Janmasthan Temple in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh will be dedicated to ISRO scientists for the successful Chandrayaan-3 mission.
“To commemorate the efforts of ISOP President S. Somnath, the temporary residence where the Lord will reside on the midnight of September 7 has been named ‘Somnath Pushp Bangla’,” said Kapil Sharma, secretary of Sri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan.
He said, “The special attire of Krishna idol has been named ‘Pragyan Prabhas’ after Pragyan Rover. Designers from Bengal and Delhi are giving final touches to the special outfit.
Gopeshwar Nath Chaturvedi, a member of the temple management body, said, “Chandrayaan-3 has reached the south pole of the moon. Every citizen of the country appreciates the perseverance, sacrifice and hard work of the scientists for such a great achievement.”
In a special and grand celebration of the 5,250th birth anniversary of Chandravanshi Lord Krishna, a special sculpture of Pragyan Rover will be placed in front of the deity’s seat in the sacred Bhagavata Bhavan.
On August 23, the day the lander module Pragyan made its landing, special prayers were offered at major temples in Mathura for its success.
