VISAKHAPATNAM: Parts of Rayalaseema as well as the south coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh, experienced light to moderate rainfall on Tuesday morning.
The IMD had issued a ‘yellow’ alert for isolated heavy rains and thunderstorms in these regions over the next two days until November 14.
The districts where the rainfall is expected include Tirupati, Annamayya, Chittoor, Nellore, Prakasam, Bapatla, Guntur, and Krishna.
The cyclonic circulation over the southwest Bay of Bengal persists over the same area, tilting southwestwards. Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the same area on Tuesday.
Thereafter, it is likely to move slowly nearly westwards towards the Tamil Nadu/Sri Lanka coasts during the subsequent two days.
Additionally, the trough from the southwest Bay of Bengal to the east-central Bay of Bengal now runs from the above cyclonic circulation over the southwest Bay of Bengal to the west-central Bay of Bengal off the north coastal Andhra Pradesh and extends up to 1.5km above mean sea level.
