Nizamabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials apprehended Lingampet police station sub-inspector and a constable red-handed when they demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 10,000 for issuing a notice instead of arresting the accused in a criminal case registered against the complainant on Thursday.
According to ACB officials, SI P Arun and station writer Thota Ramaswamy demanded Rs. 10,000 from a person for doing official favour.
The person got agitated by the demand made by the police personnel and approached the ACB official, who laid a trap and both were caught red-handed accepting bribes from the complainant.
The duo were presented at the ACB court and remanded to judicial custody.
