Vijayawada: Chinaganjam police of Bapatla district solved the kidnap case of an online trader named Pilli Venkata Krishna Rao within a few hours and arrested six persons near Chinaganjam toll plaza on Sunday.
The arrested were identified as Gurram Ananda Kumar (33), K Kalki (33), N Narender (36), B Umesh Reddy (33), S Kiran Kumar (39) and J Sai Kumar (33). They are all natives of Rangareddy district of Telangana.
Police seized two cars, one laptop and one mobile phone from the accused. However, a search is underway to nab the main accused in the case, Mohammed Riaz of Telangana.
Chirala DSP Md Moin said that Krishna Rao is a resident of Betalavari Palem village in Chinaganjam mandal of Bapatla district. On Sunday (Nov 17) morning, six unidentified persons went to Krishna Rao’s house in two cars from Hyderabad and introduced themselves as friends of Mohammed Riaz.
They threatened the victim for money and snatched his mobile phone and laptop. Later, they forced him to take a seat in one of their cars and drove away.
