Hyderabad: Two children were injured while others in the school bus escaped unhurt when the driver had to swerve to avoid hitting a tractor that suddenly came in its path in Bijinepally in Nagarkurnool district on Wednesday morning. There were 18 children in the bus.
According to police, the incident happened at around 8 am when the bus was going towards the school in Bijinepally town. While on the stretch between Vattam and Bijinepally, a tractor entered the main road from a lane and landed right in front of the bus. To avoid crashing into the tractor, the bus veered to the left and ended in fields abutting the road, police said.
The tractor driver left the spot without stopping, while locals rushed to the rescue of the children.
Bijinepally police said the two children who were hurt received minor injuries.
A case was registered against the tractor driver under section 125(A) of the BNS.
