277. Katehari is an Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) constituency in Uttar Pradesh. This constituency is located in Ambedkar Nagar district and Awadh region of Uttar Pradesh. Katehari Assembly seat can be classified as: Rural. The reservation status of this seat is: General. Katehari is part of the 55. Ambedkar Nagar (General) Lok Sabha constituency. There are a total of 403 seats in the Uttar Pradesh state Assembly.

PAST ELECTION RESULTS
In the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly election, Lalji Verma of SP defeated Avadhesh Kumar of NISHAD by a margin of 7,696 votes which was 3.13% of the total votes polled. A total of 2,46,068 votes were polled in the election, of which SP got 93,524 votes which was 37.78% of the total votes polled.
Lalji Verma (SP) won the Ambedkar Nagar Lok Sabha seat, of which Katehari is a part of.
POLL DATES
The gazette notification for the Katehari bypoll was issued on October 18, 2024 (Friday), the last date of scrutiny of nominations was October 28, 2024 (Monday) and the last date of withdrawal of nominations was October 30, 2024 (Wednesday). This constituency voted on on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 and the counting of votes is happening on Saturday, November 23, 2024.
In the 2022 Assembly elections the counting of votes was held on Thursday, March 10, 2022.

In the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Katehari had an total electorate of 3,93,514 voters, of which 2,11,885 were male, 1,81,628 female and 1 voter of the third gender.
