Anasuya Accuses KTR of Hypocrisy Over Ethanol Plant Permit in Telangana | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Panchayat raj and rural development minister D Anasuya on Thursday told BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) to visit the protest site of the ethanol plant in Nirmal district instead of targeting the govt from the sidelines. During a press conference, she pointed out that it was the BRS govt that had granted all the clearances for the ethanol plant.
“The BRS govt granted these permissions in 2023 and now they are unfairly blaming the Congress govt,” she said in response to KTR’s remarks on Wednesday where he had said that chief minister A Revanth Reddy yielded to protests at ethanol plant.
Anasuya said that during the tenure of previous BRS govt, when the permissions were granted, a former BRS minister’s son was a director of the company and another director was the son of a different BRS leader.
She also went on to allege that there might be a conspiracy behind the recent incidents of food poisoning in govt schools.
“We suspect that a political party may be involved. If any officials are found to be implicated in these incidents, strict action will be taken against them,” she warned.
In a separate announcement, Congress said that MLC Jeevan Reddy will be recommended again as the MLC candidate for the Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Warangal and Adilabad graduates constituency. She said that the sitting MLC’s name will be sent to the high command for a final decision, affirming their belief that Congress will retain this seat.
