Vikarabad: After withdrawing the earlier notification for land acquisition in Lagacherla and Polepally for a pharma village, a fresh notification is to be issued towards the establishment of a Multipurpose Industrial Park in these villages. To this effect, the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) has submitted fresh requisition proposals to the Vikarabad district administration for acquiring land towards the establishment of a Multipurpose Industrial Park.
Accordingly, District Collector Prateek Jain on Friday appointed the Sub-Collector, Tandur as Land Acquisition Officer (LAO) for acquiring land to set up the Multipurpose Industrial Park.
On June 7 this year, the TGIIC had submitted proposals for establishment of pharma villages. A request was made to process acquisition of assigned / Patta land covering 1358.37 acres in Hakimpet, Polepally and Lagacherla villages under Dudyal mandal. Subsequently, the Vikarabad Collector appointed the Revenue Divisional Officer, Tandur as the LAO. A notification for acquisition of 71.39 acres of Polepally village was approved on July 30. A notification was published on August 3 in a vernacular daily and an English daily.
Similarly, notification for acquisition of 632.26 acres of Lagacherla village, was approved on August 1. A notification was published on August 8 in English and vernacular dailies. However, with the uproar and protests from tribal farmers and villagers over the establishment of the pharma village in their vicinity, the TGIIC, Hyderabad withdrew its proposals for establishing the pharma village. Following this, the Vikarabad district administration too withdrew the notification for land acquisition in Polepally and Lagacherla. A notification to this effect was published on Friday in two different vernacular and English dailies. As the earlier land acquisition notification was for 1358.37 acres, the status of Hakimpet land acquisition is still unclear. The withdrawal notification has been issued for Polepally and Lagacherla.
Now, even as the farmers and villagers dissent is still simmering, the TGIIC has submitted a fresh requisition proposal for acquisition of land towards establishment of the Multipurpose Industrial Park.
