Hyderabad: A 10-year-old girl of Karankote town in Vikarabad district has gone missing for five days. Police said Swathi is studying class IV in the local govt high school and staying with her grandmother Bakka Lalamma.
The girl’s movements were captured in a couple of CCTV cameras in Karankote and special teams are working on various clues to trace the girl. “We are also verifying with the relatives of the girl for any clues,” said D Vittal Reddy, Karankote SHO.
Police said Swathi went to a nearby shop to buy salt on Nov 22, but did not return home. She has been staying with her grandmother after the death of her parents. Police have registered a missing case.
After searching for the girl, Lalamma lodged a complaint with police on Nov 24. Police said that in the past, Swathi had left home and was later traced in a relative’s house.
Lalamma is a daily wager.
