Aiming to bridge the gap between the Sonet and Seltos in its product portfolio, Kia India will soon introduce a new sub-4-metre SUV with premium features, ample cabin space, and multiple powertrains. Called the Kia Syros, the model will make its global debut on 19th December 2024. Prices for the new Kia compact SUV will be revealed in January, coinciding with its public debut at the Bharat Mobility Show. Deliveries are expected to begin towards the end of January or early February. Unofficial bookings for the vehicle have already been commenced nationwide. Read: New-Generation Kia Seltos Coming Soon
Interestingly, the new Kia Syros will be available with both petrol and diesel powertrains. The petrol variants will come with two options: a 1.0L turbo petrol engine and a 1.2L naturally aspirated unit. While the turbo-petrol engine delivers a maximum power of 120bhp and 172Nm of torque, the naturally aspirated unit produces 82bhp and 115Nm. The former will be available with either a manual transmission or a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The Syros diesel will use the Sonet’s 1.5L engine, which offers a claimed power output of 114bhp and 250Nm of torque. It will be paired with two transmission options: a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

It will also boast a panoramic sunroof. At the center of the dashboard will be a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, similar to the one seen in the Seltos.
Additional features will include wireless phone charging, leatherette upholstery, a fully digital instrument cluster, powered and ventilated front seats, traction modes, and drive modes. To ensure passenger safety, the Kia Syros will offer six airbags, ABS with EBD, a 360-degree camera, hill-hold assist, parking sensors, rear disc brakes, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
