Tremors in parts of Maharashtra
Officials said tremors were also felt in Maharashtra’s Nagpur, Gadchiroli, and Chandrapur districts on Wednesday morning following an earthquake that struck Telangana.
Light tremors were felt in Nagpur, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and local residents. Mild shocks were also reported in Gadchiroli, which lies near the Telangana border, as confirmed by the district information office. In Chandrapur, parts of the city, as well as Ballarpur and nearby tehsils along the Telangana border, also experienced light tremors, an official from the district administration said.
Chandrapur Collector Vinay Gowda urged residents not to panic and advised them to remain alert, advising people to move to open areas outside buildings if tremors occur again. According to IMD officials, light tremors are typically felt within a 200 to 300 km radius from the epicenter of an earthquake.
