Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule has had a record opening in the Hindi belt, even surpassing the number one opener, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (65 Cr). However, as we’ve been reporting, the results in North America are likely to be contrasting.
On its premiere day, Pushpa 2 grossed $3.3 million, according to the distributor, which is more than Devara ($2.8 million) but still not enough for a massive sequel like Pushpa 2 in this region.

On Day 1 Thursday, Pushpa 2: The Rule seems to be moving slowly at the U.S. box office.
By 2 PM EST, it had grossed $669,654. It looks like the day will end with $1.2-$1.4 million, which is below expectations.

Most importantly, the Hindi version’s performance so far isn’t impressive when we check the language-wise breakdown. This should be a concern:

Without a strong showing from the Hindi version, Pushpa 2 may struggle to reach its target of $25 million. However, it’s too early to draw conclusions, as Friday and Saturday are big days for Hindi audiences in North America.
More clarity will come on Friday regarding how much the Hindi version will contribute in the U.S., but on Day 1 (Thursday), including the Telugu version, Pushpa 2 is moving slowly.
