Telangana High Court Issues Notices in Phone Tapping Case | Hyderabad News

T HC notices to CP, home secy & others

Hyderabad: Telangana high court has issued notices to Hyderabad CP and the investigating officer (IO) in the phone tapping case registered at Panjagutta PS in March while hearing the bail plea filed by one of the accused, former DSP D Praneeth Rao.
Justice B Vijaysen Reddy served notices on the principal secretary, home department, DCP west zone, Panjagatta ACP and SHO, directing them to respond by Dec 23.
Rao’s counsel Uma Maheshwar Rao told the court that the IO filed the chargesheet in the lower court but claimed the probe was incomplete and sought more time. “Once the chargesheet is filed in the court, the IO should have confirmation about the completion of the investigation, but it is not so in this case. So, on these grounds, Praneeth Rao is entitled to bail,” Uma Maheshwar Rao said.
In response, Mahesh Raje, govt pleader for home, said main accused and SIB former chief T Prabhakar Rao and A Sravan Kumar of a vernacular TV channel are still at large. “The case was still investigated by arresting the other four accused and a chargesheet was filed. After filing the chargesheet, the accused cannot claim relief despite the IO not submitting all documents due to ongoing probe,” Raje said.
