Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy greeting the people at the public meeting in Nalgonda district on Saturday (December 7, 2024). Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy and Congress MP Chamala Kiran Reddy are also seen.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy launched a two-pronged attack challenging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to prove if any other State had given government jobs as many as Congress gave and at the same time ridiculing Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief K Chandrashekhar Rao for skipping the Assembly sessions just because people rejected his party at the hustings.
“I am willing to apologise to the PM in New Delhi if any of the BJP-ruled States had given 55,143 jobs that Telangana government gave within one year of its rule,” he said at a public meeting in Nalgonda district on Saturday (December 07) as a part of the ‘Praja Palana Vijayotsavalu’.
He also cautioned BJP national president J P Nadda, who was addressing a public meeting in Hyderabad on Saturday, not to spread falsehood blindly following the allegations made by the BRS leaders. He targeted Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy and MP Eatala Rajender asking them not to read the script given by the BRS.
Why is KCR absent from Assembly?
Targeting KCR, he blamed him for failing to play the role of the Leader of Opposition giving constructive suggestions in the Assembly. KCR has let out some amateurish leaders to target the Congress government with fake and false messages through social media.
The Chief Minister reminded that he too lost in the Assembly elections along with R&B Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy but they stayed with the people and won in the Parliament elections. “You can’t sit at home just because you lost an election,” he told KCR, urging him to attend the Assembly sessions.
Rejects BRS and BJP allegations
Rejecting the Opposition parties’ allegations on the one-year Congress rule, he said the Congress party has a history of waiving off ₹2 lakh farm loans releasing ₹21,000 crore in a year including ₹2,004 crore in Nalgonda district alone. Free power to agriculture is a Congress patent and so are the numerous welfare schemes, he said.
Blaming the BRS for destroying the State’s economy raising debts worth ₹7 lakh crore, he said the Congress was paying ₹65,000 crore as interest every year on the loans raised by the BRS government. He assured a ring road for Nalgonda town with ₹400 crore while recalling how the government had taken up the regional road around Hyderabad at a cost of ₹35,000 crores. A new city would come up around Hyderabad with an estimated outlay of ₹50,000 crore.
Earlier, he dedicated the 800 MW unit of the Yadadri Thermal Power Station to the nation. He also inaugurated the delivery channels of the Lift Irrigation project at Brahmanavellemla in Nalgonda district which would irrigate thousands of acres in the backward district.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, Damodar Raja Narsimha, Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy and Bhongir Member of Parliament Chamala Kiran Reddy were among present.
