Apart from Tata Motors’ current ICE and EV portfolio, there are exciting upcoming models including Harrier EV, Safari EV and Sierra EV
At the fag end of 2024, many car manufacturers are announcing an imminent price hike starting from 1st January 2025. Tata Motors is no different. The company has just announced a price hike with its PV portfolio that is set to take effect from the beginning of the next calendar year. Let’s take a look.
Tata Motors Price Hike
One of India’s leading car manufacturers and highest-selling SUV manufacturers, Tata Motors, is one of India’s most popular brands. Currently, the company is offering attractive discounts of up to Rs 3.5 lakh on its ICE and EV portfolio to clear dealer inventory and boost sales.
Post 1st January, 2025, Tata Motors has announced implementing a systematic price hike of 3% on its entire passenger vehicle portfolio. These include all the hatchbacks, sedan and SUVs across both ICE and EV powertrains. This is a common trend manufacturers follow at the end of a calendar year.
Tata Motors has cited that the price hike is in response to a rise in input costs and inflation. The company also mentioned that the price hike transferred to buyers is only partial. Tata Motors seems to be absorbing the majority of this price increment.
Price hike of 3% announced, is dependent on the model and variant. Exact prices will be divulged starting January 2025. All models across Tata Motors’ passenger vehicles portfolio is affected by this price hike. These include Tiago, Tigor, Punch, Punch EV, Nexon, Nexon EV, Curvv, Curvv EV, Harrier and Safari.
Upcoming Tata cars
While the current portfolio is quite popular and is fetching decent sales, there is always room for expansion. Tata is keen on expanding its passenger vehicle portfolio with new offerings. Some of the vehicles seen on testing include Harrier EV and Safari EV.
A Harrier EV test mule has been spotted with a rear electric motor, hinting at a possible dual-motor 4WD setup. The company is also poised to revive the iconic Sierra nameplate. Tata has showcased Sierra concept and another show vehicle which looked very close to production-spec model.
Speculations suggest Tata will launch Sierra EV first, making way for an ICE version later on. We can also expect a refresh to Tata’s Tiago and Tigor as the rivals have improved quite a bit. Quality control and after-sales service are two aspects with room for improvement for Tata as owners express their reservations on social media platforms frequently.
