The ongoing family dispute between veteran actor Mohan Babu and his younger son Manchu Manoj has escalated, with both the parties filing complaints against each other at the Pahadi Shareef Police Station.

Mr. M. Mohan Babu, has filed a formal complaint by sending an email to Rachakonda Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu, alleging threats to his safety and illegal occupation of his residence by his son Manoj Kumar Manchu and his daughter-in-law Monika.

In his written appeal to the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mohan Babu detailed an alarming sequence of events. The 78-year-old actor, who resides in Jalpally, stated that his son Manoj, who had returned home four months prior after an extended absence, disrupted the household on December 8. “Mr. Manoj, along with a group of unidentified individuals described as ‘anti-social elements’, created a disturbance at the residence,” claimed Mr. Mohan Babu.

He further alleged that his son and daughter-in-law abandoned their seven-month-old daughter at the residence under the care of hired staff. “Matters escalated on Monday morning when approximately 30 individuals claiming to be Mr. Manoj’s associates trespassed onto the property, threatening staff members and declaring the house off-limits to anyone without their approval,” said the actor.

His complaint paints a distressing picture of intimidation, with the trespassers allegedly attempting to force him into permanently vacating his residence. Mr. Mohan Babu expressed fears for his life, citing a coordinated effort by his son and daughter-in-law to unlawfully seize his home.

As a senior citizen and former Member of Parliament, the actor highlighted the gravity of the situation, stating that the actions of Mr. Manoj, Ms. Monika, and their alleged associates pose a direct threat to his safety and well-being. The complaint also sought immediate legal action against Mr. Manoj, Ms. Monika, and their associates, an eviction of the unauthorised individuals from his property, and adequate police protection to ensure his safe return to his residence.

Meanwhile, Mr. Manchu Manoj approached the Pahadi Shareef police at around 7 p.m. on Monday and claimed that intruders entered the property in Jalpally and attacked him when confronted, and fled. Mr. Manoj submitted hospital records as evidence and mentioned that CCTV footage had been erased. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.

His medico-legal report from a private hospital, the 41-year-old actor was admitted with injuries consistent with blunt trauma and abrasions. “Notable injuries include blunt trauma to the abdomen and cervical spine, as well as abrasions on the neck and trauma to the left calf. The report indicates that these injuries are fresh and resulted from physical assault. Manoj was examined at 4.30 p.m., and his condition was assessed as stable, with no life-threatening injuries reported,” read the report.
