The ninth-generation Toyota Camry has been launched in India at a price of Rs 48 lakh, which is Rs 1.83 lakh higher than the previous model (Rs 46.17 lakh) and Rs 6 lakh more affordable than the Skoda Superb (Rs 54 lakh). The sedan continues to be brought to India via the CKD (completely knocked down) route. Significant updates have been made both inside and outside, with a more fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain that’s 30% more frugal than before.

Updated, Frugal Powertrain
The new Camry sources power from a 2.5L petrol engine benefited with Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system. This engine produces 230bhp and 220Nm of torque, which is a 12bhp increase over the previous model. The power is sent through an eCVT (electronically controlled continuously variable transmission) gearbox.
Safety Features
The 2024 Toyota Camry is equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite, which includes Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). This suite features radar-based cruise control, pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection, road sign assist, lane tracing assist, and automatic high beams. On the safety front, the Camry also offers nine airbags, a 360-degree camera, and parking sensors at both the front and rear. For entertainment, a nine-speaker JBL sound system is available.
Feature-Packed Interior
The new Camry’s interior has a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10-inch HUD (Head-Up Display). It also features heated and ventilated 10-way powered front seats, ventilated and reclining rear seats with controls in a rear center console, three-zone automatic climate control, digital key functionality, and a panoramic sunroof with a retractable sunshade. Additionally, the dashboard design has been updated for a more modern feel.
Refreshing Looks
Visually, the Camry receives a refreshing update with a trapezoidal grille, U-shaped LED headlamps and DRLs (Daytime Running Lights), a revised bumper, newly-designed 18-inch alloy wheels, and C-shaped wraparound LED taillamps. Based on the TNGA-K platform, the new model measures 4,915 mm in length, 1,839 mm in width, and 1,445 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,825 mm.
