The Vizag Navy Marathon will be held at the RK beach here on December 15. It will be organised by the Indian Navy in collaboration with various local agencies and sports bodies, and is certified by AIMS (Association of International Marathons). At least 13,000 participants from across the country and abroad are expected to take part in the marathon, according to a release here on Wednesday.
The marathon will offer multiple race categories, enabling participants of all skill levels to take part. The starting time for various race categories are Full Marathon (4.15 a.m.), Half Marathon (4.30 a.m.), 10 km race (5.30 a.m.), 5 km race (6.15 a.m.).
All races will begin and end in front of Vishwapriya Function Hall, located near RK Beach.
Five ambulances will be stationed at the Start/ Finish line and at the turn-around points for the Full, Half Marathon, and 10 km races. Twelve medical stations will be positioned along the route for quick assistance. Physio teams will be available at the Start/ Finish line and at key points on the route. Six mobile medical teams would be deployed to ensure immediate support in case of emergencies. Nearly 12 to 16 hydration stations will be provided along the course, ensuring runners stay hydrated and energised throughout the race.
Designated parking slots would be available at AU English Medium School, AU Convention Hall, APIIC Grounds.
