HYDERABAD: Attacked by a leopard, a woman sustained injuries and was admitted to a hospital in Adilabad district.
The incident took place on Saturday morning as the woman was near a cattle shed at her house in Dedra village in Bazarhathnoor mandal. The leopard, which presumably came to prey on the cattle, jumped on the woman who went out to answer nature’s call. When she raised a hue and cry and the villagers ran to her help, the leopard left the place.
Bheemabai suffered injuries near her eye and was admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Adilabad town for treatment.
Forest officials were informed about the leopard. The woman was promised all necessary help, including financial assistance for whatever treatment was required for her.
A month ago, the pugmarks of a leopard were noticed by forest officials in Kuntala mandal in Adilabad district.
They alerted villagers about it, urging them to take necessary precautions. Five months ago in Thalamadugu mandal, the movements of a leopard were detected and villagers were alerted about it.
