Hyderabad: A 24-year-old software engineer died on the spot, and his colleague was seriously injured when their scooter collided with a tipper truck in Gowlidoddy, Gachibowli, in the early hours of Saturday.
The deceased, Challa Lohith, a resident of Gowlidoddy, worked as a software engineer. His colleague, Mahesh Babu (24), sustained severe injuries to his jaw and is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital. Doctors said that Mahesh will need surgery for his injuries. The accident occurred near a convention centre in Gowlidoddy when a tipper truck, driven by Vadde Ashok, collided with their scooter. Lohith was killed on spot.
“We have registered a case and arrested the tipper driver. Initial probe suggests that rash and negligent driving led to the incident,” a police official from Gachibowli PS stated.
