Hyderabad: Cold wave conditions prevailed in Adilabad and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts of Telangana State between Saturday night and early hours of Sunday with temperatures hovering between 6.3 degrees Celsius and 7 degrees Celsius.
Hyderabad and its neighbouring districts were also under the grip of intense chilly weather conditions with BHEL area in Sangareddy district recording single digit temperature at 9.6 degrees Celsius.
The lowest minimum temperature of 6.3 degrees Celsius was recorded at Jainad and Bheempoor in Adilabad followed by 6.4 and 6.6 degrees Celsius in Pochara, Bhoraj and Tandra, all mandals in Adilabad. Earlier on Saturday, the IMD-Hyderabad released a forecast of the prevalence of cold wave conditions in the two districts of Adilabad and Kumram Bheem Asifabad.
Back in Hyderabad and its neighbouring districts, apart from 9.6 degrees Celsius in BHEL area, the University of Hyderabad, Serilingampally mandal, Rangareddy district, recorded a minimum temperature of 9.7 degrees Celsius.
The Moula Ali region of Medchal-Malkajgiri and Shankarpalli in Rangareddy district recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 11.3 degrees Celsius. Intense cold also prevailed in the city outskirts with Islampur in Tupran mandal, Medak district recording a minimum temperature of 11.4 degrees Celsius.
At Shadnagar, Medak district, the minimum temperature recorded was 12 degrees Celsius while at Kapra municipality the temperatures fell to 12.8 degrees Celsius.
