A large number of people took part in the Vizag Navy Marathon 2024, on the Beach Road, on Sunday, December 15, 2024.
The participants, including a significant number of foreign nationals, reached the beach road in the early hours to join the 9th edition of Marathon, a flagship event of the city’s Navy Day celebrations, offering delightful experiences to runners of all levels.

Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command Flag, flagged off the event at 4.30 am. The Flag Officer highlighted the opportunity for participants in the world-class race to experience the captivating landscapes of Visakhapatnam.
Runners chose from the full 42-km marathon, 21-km half marathon or shorter 10-km and 5-km routes. The marathon offers a scenic run along the picturesque coastline of the city, with an attractive prize money of around Rs. 10 lakh distributed among the winners.
