HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has issued notices to actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna, Congress leader K Jana Reddy along with several other property owners regarding land acquisition for expanding the road network around the traffic-dense KBR Park area. Authorities have also marked their properties for road widening.
According to the civic body, the notices were served recently requesting their consent for widening the road as outlined in the master plan. The proposed widening would require 20 feet from Balakrishna’s property, while Jana Reddy’s property might need to contribute 30 feet.
The properties are part of the road development plan wherein a 6.5-kilometre stretch, connecting Road Number 12, Banjara Hills junction near Virinchi Hospital and Jubilee Hills Checkpost through KBR, would be widened. GHMC has already allocated 150 crore for the road expansion project.

At present, the road width is between 50 and 100 feet, and plans are in place to expand it to 100-120 feet in necessary sections to ensure smooth traffic flow. The project will impact 306 properties, with 87 properties already obtained through acquisition,” a GHMC town planning wing official said.
Meanwhile, GHMC has also earmarked 210 crore towards construction of elevated corridors around KBR Park. The project encompasses building a first-level one-way flyover at NFCL Junction in Banjara Hills, alongside a three-lane uni-directional underpass at TV9 junction.
