HYDERABAD: Three persons allegedly involved in the illegal transportation and sale of poppy straw were arrested by Rachakonda police at Meerpet.

“Due to financial problems, they decided to earn easy money by selling narcotic drugs. They came into contact with one drug peddler, Mohan. They started purchasing poppy straw at a cheaper rate from Mohan and transporting it to Hyderabad through public transportation vehicles, selling it to needy customers in and around Hyderabad city for a huge price,” Rachakonda Commissioner Sudheer Babu said.
