Hyderabad: The Telangana govt introduced a bill to rename the University College for Women in Koti as Chakali Ilamma Telangana Women’s University and include it in Telangana Universities Act. The universities amendment bill was tabled by govt in assembly on Monday along with the Young India Physical Education and Sports University of Telangana bill.
Officials said that there are 11 state universities in the Universities Act and the women’s university, which was created by issuing a GO, is now added to the list.
The govt had converted Koti Women’s College into a women’s varsity two years ago. The state govt had already announced establishing a sports university in proposed Fourth City to impart sports skills to youth along with regular studies on the lines of South Korea. They would receive coaching in various sports to help them compete at national and global levels.tnn
