Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed as family members and student organisations staged a protest in front of the private residential school, Hayathnagar, following the death of a Class VII student in the hostel room on the school campus on Tuesday.
The protestors alleged harassment and negligence on the part of the teachers and management, which forced the boy to take the extreme step. They raised slogans against the school management and demanded justice for the student’s family.
The Hayathnagar police deployed additional forces to prevent any untoward incident. The protestors were pacified and the situation was brought under control.
The 12-year-old, who was staying in the hostel located on the school campus, was upset and took the extreme step. In the absence of his roommate, the boy died by hanging from the ceiling fan.
