Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again OTT Response: Extremely Negative

Singham Again is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. While the film turned out to be a semi-hit in terms of box office collections, the negative response did not stop towards the film.

The acting performances have been slammed by the audience on social media. Ranveer Singh is also being heavily criticized for his cringe-acting. Even his funny dialogue could not save the film.

On the other hand, Rohit Shetty had a perfect opportunity to bounce back since he had cast multiple superstars. But none of them were given perfect roles and it seems like everyone was not utilized properly.

The popular faces should have been present throughout the film but they came occasionally on screen. Akshay made an appearance towards the climax, which lacked the thrilling and exciting moments that were present in Sooryavanshi.

But the biggest disappointment was Ajay Devgn, whose character did not have a proper intensity compared to how Singham was in the previous installments.

Rohit failed to bring out the anger and fire that was spotted in the eyes of Ajay in the first two entries of Singham.

Audiences specifically missed the iconic dialogue of Ajay in Singham, where he says “Aata Majhi Satakli.” This time it looked like Ajay’s character was different.

He was not Singham and instead, he appeared more like Vijay Salgaonkar from Drishyam.

Rohit additionally messed up everything by bringing Ramayana references, which were not needed at all. If the Ramayana angle had been removed, Rohit could have easily utilized those moments to bring something better.

The result should have been outstanding since it took almost ten years to bring another Singham.

It looks like Rohit was more interested in wrapping up the film and was more dependent on the franchise value of the Cop Universe, believing that the popularity of the films and characters would help it to become a blockbuster.

Singham Again is a lesson for Rohit to understand that he needs to work a little bit more and take a few more years if he is planning to bring a big film like this again.
