Transport Minister launches APSRTC month-long cargo door delivery programme in Visakhapatnam

Transport Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad launched APSRTC’s month-long cargo door delivery programme (Cargo Door Delivery Masostvalu) at the Dwaraka Bus Complex here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ramprasad said that the APSRTC is transporting cargo from one place to any other place in the State within 24 hours. After being launched in the year 2021, the cargo services has gained huge public reception and on an average eight lakh parcels are being delivered with minimal charges, he said. He also said that apart from major bus stations, the facility can be availed at around 80 centres across the State.

The Transport Minister said that for the year 2024-25, the target revenue through cargo/parcels was around ₹500 crore and till date, the APSRTC has achieved 70% of it. He said that Vizianagaram Zone I has been standing first in generating revenue through parcels for the past four years in the State. He said that the zone has also improved in operations, compared to previous years.

Mr. Ramprasad has also visited the Dwaraka Bus Complex and inspected food zones and stalls. He also received feedback from several RTC passengers about the services being offered.

APSRTC Regional Chairman S. Donnu Dora, APSRTC Regional Manager Appalanaidu and others were present.
