Vijayawada: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has put his cabinet colleagues on notice with regard to clearance of files. Stating that he is closely tracking their performance, he asked them work hard to meet the expectations of people. He also suggested that ministers should ready plans to tap additional funds from the Centre for schemes in their respective departments.
The chief minister, who met cabinet colleagues on Thursday, discussed various issues including the performance of the ministers during the in-camera session. “I have asked for self-appraisal reports from all the ministers about their performance in the first six months. Except irrigation minister Nimmala Ramanaidu and ST welfare minister Gummadi Sandhyarani, no one has responded. You can’t escape scrutiny even if you avoid submission of appraisal reports,” he is said to have told them on a lighter note.
Naidu is believed to have told the ministers that he has been visiting the RTGS regularly to track the performance of ministers. He said many ministers were not clearing the files on time. He asked them to visit the districts for which they have been made in-charges. “How can I get feedback on the implementation of various programmes unless you visit the districts after becoming in-charges?” he asked.
