Hyderabad: A Jagtial fast track special court judge G Neelima on Monday sentenced a 25-year-old youth to rigorous imprisonment for 20 years and a 2,000 fine for sodomising his six-year-old neighbour at Siripur village of Mallapur police station in April 2019.
The accused trapped the boy playing at his home under the pretext of giving him mangoes. He took the boy to a mango garden on the village outskirts and sodomised him.
Ashok Kumar, SP Jagtial, said the investigating team and the court constables presented the case before the court with strong evidence, which helped secure a conviction.
According to the police, the boy’s father migrated to Dubai for livelihood, and he, along with his older brother, was staying with their mother. On the day of the crime, their mother left them at home and went to a nearby shop. Later, the survivour returned home and explained to his mother about the incident. Police registered a case and arrested the accused.
