Hyderabad: Cyberabad police filed a chargesheet in court in the rape case registered against choreographer Jani Master in Narsingi police station.
Jani Master is currently out on bail. Police registered a case against Jani for rape and under the Pocso Act after his assistant lodged a complaint alleging that he raped her on multiple occasions in the past five years.
Initially, a case was registered against Jani in Sept, and subsequently, he was arrested and remanded in judicial custody. He came out on bail in Oct, after the Telangana high court granted him bail. His assistant, 21, alleged that Jani raped her in a hotel in Mumbai in 2019 during a shoot and at several other locations, threatening to ruin her career if she did not give in to his demands.
Following the case, the Union govt withdrew the national award announced for Jani for best choreography.
