All India Federation Cup Carroms Tournament will begin at Nellore Club in the city on January 5, 2025. Around 33 teams from 24 States will participate in the four-day competition.
Addressing media persons, here on Friday (December 27), SPSR Nellore District Carroms Association president Chilakala Srimannarayana said Nellore is hosting the event after 80 years. “Along with the best national teams, five international champions will also attend the tournament,” he added.
Mr. Srimannarayana said that all arrangements have been made and announced a cash prize of ₹2 lakh for the winning team. All India Carroms Federation president and MP Rakibul Hussain will be the chief guest, and Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and International Carroms Federation president Joseph Mayor will attend as guests, he said.
Nellore Club Secretary Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy and District Carroms Association secretary V. Raghuram Sridhar also spoke at the press meet.
