Hyderabad: Telangana govt gained an income of 1.4 lakh crore from various tax, non-tax, and grant sources by the end of Nov, out of a total budget outlay of 2.74 lakh crore.
This amount represents 51% of budget, which is 6% less than total income achieved by end of Nov in previous financial year. According to monthly income and expenditure details released by Comptroller and Auditor General on Friday, of this, 5,217 crore is non-tax income, and state received 11,472 crore as its share of central taxes.
Regarding borrowings, out of a planned 49,255 crore, state already borrowed 37,850 crore, 78% of total borrowings required. By end of Nov in previous year, state govt had utilised 99% of its budgeted borrowings. The state spends 17,080 crore on interest payments, 28,196 crore on salaries, 11,172 crore on pension payments. From stamps and registration, the state earned 9,524 crore and 21,081 crore from sales tax by end of Nov. It also got 91 crore from interstate settlements, a significant increase compared to zero in previous year.
