YSR Congress had started a propaganda campaign that Chandrababu Naidu already spent 2000 Crore Rupees only on Lawyers to defend his cases. The plan is to portray Chandrababu as corrupt using this baseless number.
For a second, consider it to be true. Chandrababu is in jail for around 40 days, if he had to spend 2000 Crore for lawyers, what would have been the costs of Jagan for the same lawyers?
Jagan was in jail for 16 months. His lawyers had to file numerous bail petitions in various CBI and ED cases which are far complex than the cases on Chandrababu Naidu.
If we extrapolate the 2000 Crore for 40 days to 16 months (approx 480 days), we would arrive at a cost of 24,000 Crore for Jagan to just come out on bail. These cases are going on today for more than 10 years.
How much did it cost for Jagan to date?
We have seen Jagan going to the Supreme Court for every small issue in these four and a half years. Almost all major decisions ended up in court and resulted in adverse judgments for the Government.
Senior Supreme Court Advocates were hired even for those cases. But then, all those costs were incurred by the Public.
Going by the YSR Congress’s calculation of 2000 Crore for 40 days, Jagan in Opposition would have spent at least 24,000 Crore just to secure bail.
If the 2000 Crore is true, the 24,000 Crore should also be true.
