Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Thursday challenged the BRS leaders for an open debate on the measures taken for Backward Classes during the 10-year BRS govt tenure and the actions taken by the Congress govt in the past one year.
Goud said his appointment as Telangana Congress chief is proof enough that Congress prioritises BCs. He also mentioned that the Congress govt has given a lot of importance to BCs in the state cabinet. He questioned whether it is possible for the BRS to appoint a BC leader as its president.
He alleged BRS MLC K Kavitha, who was an accused in the liquor scam case, is shedding crocodile tears for welfare of BCs to maintain her political relevance as her importance in BRS is diminishing fast.
