Hyderabad: Passengers on a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus assisted a woman in delivering a baby in Jogulamba Gadwal district as the pregnant woman went into labour on her way to the hospital.
The woman, Mariamma from Nandiginne village in Ketidoddi mandal, and her family boarded an RTC bus to go to the govt hospital in Gadwal on Friday.
Upon noticing that the woman was experiencing birth pangs, the driver, Narendar Goud, stopped the bus at the side of the road. The driver and conductor, Kishore Kumar, asked all the passengers to get down and requested that the female passengers on the bus assist the pregnant woman with her delivery.
The woman gave birth to a healthy female baby.
Meanwhile, a 108 ambulance, called by the bus crew, arrived at the location and took the woman and the newborn baby to the hospital.
TGSRTC MD, VC Sajjanar, appreciated the Gadwal bus depot crew, driver G Narendar Goud, and bus conductor Kishore Kumar for showing sensitivity in their job and serving bus passengers.
